Privacy Policy

Marketplace Assistant is a Chrome extension that helps a user copy the user’s own Facebook Marketplace listings or import user-selected vehicle inventory into new drafts for review.

1. Data processed

Marketplace listing content

When a user starts a scan, the extension processes visible listing summaries such as title, price, thumbnail, listing URL, date, and status. For a user-selected listing it processes the description, available category or vehicle attributes, approximate listing location, and photographs. This content is used only for the requested workflow.

Optional vehicle inventory imports

When a user chooses to import inventory, the extension may process a local CSV file or a vehicle page or Google Sheets URL supplied by the user. Supported imported data may include the source URL, title, price, VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, description, location, condition, colors, fuel type, transmission, body type, and image URLs or photographs.

Access to a vehicle website or Google Sheets domain is optional and requested by Chrome when the user starts that import. The extension uses that access to read the selected source for the requested workflow, not to monitor general browsing. Google Sheets requests omit account credentials and work only when the supplied sheet is accessible through its export link. The extension does not collect Google account passwords or Google authentication tokens.

Optional account and service data

Account features may be hidden during the free beta. If used, Supabase processes the email address, password, user ID, session tokens, and Free/Pro status. Passwords go directly to Supabase over HTTPS and are not stored by the extension. Facebook passwords, cookies, and access tokens are not collected.

Voluntary support requests may include the submitted subject and message, account ID and email when signed in, interface language, version, and time. The extension may download announcements and store a signed-in user’s voluntary poll choice.

Diagnostics and local data

For signed-in users, unexpected errors may send a limited diagnostic report containing version, browser user-agent, language, component, operation, workflow status, sanitized error and stack trace, time, and a duplicate fingerprint. Tokens, email addresses, long identifiers, and full URLs are redacted. Diagnostics never include listing photos, messages, credentials, general browsing history, mouse movements, or keystrokes.

Chrome extension storage may contain preferences, an optional account session, user-selected listing summaries and source URLs, imported inventory rows, copied content, temporary photos, draft queue and history, workflow state, the last failed step, local operation history, productivity summaries, announcements, and locally calculated listing-quality suggestions. Quality results are not uploaded.

If the optional photo helper is running, selected photo data may be sent to 127.0.0.1 on the same device to create temporary attachment files. This transfer stays on the device.

The Donate button opens a Stripe-hosted page. Payment details go directly to Stripe and are not received or stored by the extension.

Optional website analytics

The Marketplace Assistant website may offer optional Google Analytics. It loads only after a visitor selects Allow analytics. When enabled, Google may process page views, browser and device information, approximate location derived from network information, and clicks that lead to the Chrome Web Store. These events do not include Facebook passwords, listing content, photos, or buyer messages. The visitor can decline analytics, and that choice is saved in the browser.

2. How data is used

The extension does not automatically publish or delete listings, message buyers, build advertising profiles, determine creditworthiness, or use data for unrelated purposes.

3. Storage and retention

Listing content, imported inventory, source URLs, photographs, workflow data, draft queue and history, local history, and preferences stay in Chrome storage, Chrome-managed downloads, or temporary local files until replaced, cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. Temporary files are removed after the operation where possible.

Optional account, poll, support, and sanitized diagnostic records are stored in Supabase over HTTPS with authenticated requests and row-level access controls. Support and diagnostic records may be retained for up to 12 months unless longer retention is necessary for an open support or security issue or required by law.

4. Sharing and disclosure

The developer does not sell, rent, or use user data for advertising. Data is disclosed only to Supabase for optional service features, Stripe for a user-initiated donation, Google for an accessible Sheets export or website analytics when the visitor opts in, the vehicle website selected by the user during an import, Meta/Facebook during the requested Marketplace workflow, or as reasonably required by law or security needs. Imported listing data is not uploaded to a Marketplace Assistant inventory database. Use and transfer comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

5. User choices and deletion

Users can stop workflows, retry or dismiss failures, choose whether to vote, dismiss announcements, sign out, clear extension storage, or uninstall. To request access, correction, or deletion of remotely stored data, email musicyt200@gmail.com from the account email address.

6. Third parties

Vehicle websites and Google Sheets are operated by their respective providers and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. See the Meta Privacy Policy, Supabase Privacy Policy, Stripe Privacy Policy, and Google Privacy Policy. Marketplace Assistant is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta, Facebook, CarGurus, Cars.com, CarsForSale, AutoTrader, or Google.

7. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when data practices change. Material changes will be disclosed through the extension or Chrome Web Store listing when required.
